I watched a movie that came out in 2013 called schooled. In this movie it talks about how college athletes should be paid for what they do because they bring billions of dollars to schools who associate with the NCAA. It goes through the definition of amateurism and through the stories of many football players including those who are still attending school. One of the players compares the NCAA’s contract to that of an indentured service: Training, Room, and Board. It is a very interesting documentary. It changed my perspective on college athletes. It also changed my perspective on the power of money and advertising. You’d think athletes in the video games got paid? However, they did not at that point in time (2013). Check it out, if you’re into sports or just into cool documentaries.
